Here, we outline the essential rules and regulations for participating in the C10 Nationals Autocross events.

– Classes
Vehicles are divided into various classes based on their year, make, model, and modifications.
Year-Generation: Covers events like C10 Nationals with generation of trucks based on year splits i.e. OBS, Squarebody, etc.
Pro Class: Almost anything goes with significant modifications or Pro level driver. 200 TW requirement

– Safety Requirements
Functional seat belts or harnesses.
Securely mounted seats.
No fluid leaks.
Properly inflated tires.
Operational brakes, steering, and throttle controls.
Drivers must possess a valid driver’s license. Some events may require a specific competition license.

Driver Requirements
It is recommended that helmets are worn during “fun runs” in stock or similar trucks.
Shootout & Pro Series drivers are required to wear helmets meeting Snell or equivalent safety standards.
Drivers in all classes must have closed-toe shoes & long pants and long-sleeved shirts are recommended.
Drivers must respect other competitors and officials.
Drivers must adherence to all event rules and regulations.
No reckless driving or endangerment of others.

Event Structure – Course Design
The course is typically laid out using traffic cones on a large, open paved area.
Key elements include:
Slaloms: Series of cones spaced at intervals, requiring precise maneuvering.
Gates: Pairs of cones that define the track boundaries.
Hairpins: Tight turns requiring significant steering input.
Sweepers: Long, flowing turns that test a driver’s ability to maintain speed.

Timing and Scoring
Each driver’s run is timed, and penalties are applied for hitting cones or missing course elements.
Common penalties include:
Two-second penalty for each cone hit.
Disqualification for missing a gate or going off course.
Disqualification for damaging or taking out of timing equipment
All events will utilize a Shootout format based on class breakdown for the specific event

Day 1 will consist of practice and fun runs, allowing participants to familiarize themselves with the course and refine their skills. This format allows for maximum number of runs for participants and official Share the Ride activities with the key focus being fun.
Day 2 will be split between practice\fun runs in the morning and a competitive shootout starting at noon. Shootout is open to all participants with signup sheets for each class at the main timing and scoring tent.

Shootout format is as follows:
Each class Shootout will be in a single elimination style and be executed to completion before the next class starts.
Order of the Shootout is at the timing director’s discretion with the exception of the Pro Class, which will always be the final.
Drivers will draw for pairing (Street Outlaws Style).
Paired drivers will run 1 lap each and the fastest time will advance to the next round.
Winning drivers need to return to timing tent as soon as the race is complete to be ready for the next round drawing.
Racing will continue until an overall winner is decided.

Penalties and Protests
Penalties or removal from the event are imposed for various infractions, including:
Repeated malicious hitting cones or course markers.
Repeated careless or reckless driving
Unsportsmanlike conduct.
Speeding or unsafe driving in Pits or other areas of the event

Drivers may file protests if they believe a competitor is in violation of the rules. The process includes:
Submitting a formal protest to event officials.

Resolution and potential penalties or disqualifications.

Autocross is a thrilling and accessible form of motorsport that emphasizes driver skill and vehicle handling. By adhering to these rules and regulations, participants can ensure a safe and fair competition for all. Whether you are a seasoned competitor or a newcomer, understanding and following the autocross rules will enhance your experience and performance on the course.
